Meet Clayton Barry

Clayton learned the restoration business the hard way. In his early twenties, his father passed away unexpectedly, leaving him to manage the family’s cleaning and fire restoration company and prepare it for sale.

After selling the company, Clayton pursued his interest in marketing, joining a leading San Francisco advertising agency and later United Airlines, where he served as one of four regional marketing managers.

Seven years later, his entrepreneurial spirit led him back to the restoration industry. As an independent water-mitigation operator, he focused primarily on direct commercial work, building relationships with property managers, businesses, and other commercial clients.

Fifteen years later, Clayton made another significant transition, joining a leading restoration franchise system serving the insurance industry. His operation achieved the highest sales volume among the system’s California locations and consistently earned annual “Top 100” recognition among more than 1,700 operators.

Clayton became a regular contributor to convention panels and workshops and received the organization’s “CEO Award” for his contributions to commercial marketing.

In 2018, he sold his multimillion-dollar franchise and began helping other restoration owners apply the business-development, positioning, sales, and relationship-building strategies that contributed to his own success.

A teacher at heart, Clayton works with owners and management teams to build what he calls a “company culture of sales.” His approach emphasizes discovering and developing a company’s unique selling proposition, aligning leadership and sales around a clear message, and maintaining an extraordinary focus on the human side of business development.

“Above all, he teaches companies how to build the kind of relationships that become clients for life.”
